About Me

I was born in Sudbury and have lived locally all my life.

Before commencing any training as a counsellor I was a secretary and went on to work in manufacturing and later recruitment.

I began my counselling training in 1997 because it was a subject I was interested in. When I began the training it hadn’t been my intention to take it up as a career.  However, in 2000 I approached a local GP surgery to ask if he would refer some clients to me so that I could go on to work towards accreditation. I was later asked by that surgery, Hardwick House in Sudbury, if I would like to work with clients from their practices as they were conducting a counselling pilot scheme. I agreed and that was the beginning of a career that I absolutely love.

I worked for Hardwick House until the counselling was taken over by West Suffolk Mind. I then transferred to Suffolk Mind. In 2009 the IAPT service came into being and I applied for a job with that organisation and am still working for them as part of Suffolk and Norfolk Wellbeing Service.

I also have my own private practice at The Christopher Centre in Sudbury. I have been seeing clients there since 2000 when I completed my initial training.
